Course Description
This 3-hour training combines scientific concepts and practical activities to enhance the knowledge and skills of participants on how to disrupt, effectively and safely remove biofilm, tartar, and stains using ultrasonic technology.
There will be demonstrations on dental models of techniques for using a selection of magnetostrictive ultrasonic instruments to guide participants in developing their practice.
Key Learning Objectives:
EXAMINE THE SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE:
Discuss the latest research indicating areas where ultrasonic technology might be underutilized by dental hygienists. Identify opportunities for enhancements within your practice.
IMPROVE TARTAR, STAINS, AND BIOFILM REMOVAL:
Compare the features of ultrasonic instruments, including diameter, shape, and cross-sectional area. Understand the significance of tip activity and consider different treatment plan scenarios involving multiple instruments.
DISCOVER HOW THE RIGHT TECHNIQUE CAN BOOST CLINICAL OUTCOMES:
Showcase at least three technical adjustments that can heighten the efficiency in removing both soft and hard deposits, all while minimizing the time spent on the ultrasonic procedure.
